Located in Oceana County, the Little Sable Point Lighthouse was built in 1874 and once looked very similar to the Big Sable Point Lighthouse near Ludington. Both towers stood 107 ft tall, both were constructed of brick, and both had a third-order Fresnel lens. The Big Sable Point tower deteriorated and eventually was covered with steel plates, but the tower at Little Sable Point still looks much as it did 120 years ago. Open to the public seven days a week from 10am-5pm with a small admission fee of $5 for adults and $2 for Children 12 and under.

In 1924, the present structure was built on the north side of the harbor. The light is a square pyramidal building, steel framed and encased in riveted steel plates. The tower shines 19 miles out on Lake Michigan.

The Marquette Maritime Museum
is pleased to offer guided tours of
the Marquette Harbor Lighthouse. This is the only way to view this picturesque light as it is currently located on an active U.S. Coast Guard Base. Tours run daily mid-May through mid-October. Please call ahead for specific tour times. The museum is
on the national historic places register.

Built in 1870, Mission Point Lighthouse is now maintained by Peninsula Township and short-term keepers are allowed to live in the lighthouse. It is half way between
the North Pole and the Equator
exactly on the 45th parallel. It was decommissioned in 1933. Hours are 10am-5pm, daily, April - October Self-guided tours are available seven days a week from which includes access to the tower. To confirm these times call first. Available at no charge is the Hessler Log Cabin, a restored turn of the century log cabin on the lighthouse grounds. Adults $5, Children $3, Children five and under, free.

Presque Isle Light Station is a complex of three historic buildings including a lighthouse tower and two keeper’s residences. Located on the Lake Huron shoreline near Presque Isle
Harbor, the “New Presque Isle Light” is the tallest lighthouse tower accessible by the public on the Great Lakes. Built in 1870, it replaced the 1840 harbor light. The light station complex is part of a 99-acre township park that includes a playground, picnic area, pavilion and nature trails. Visitors, for a nominal fee, may climb the 130 steps to the top of the tower for a spectacular view. The buildings and grounds are open to the public daily from 9am-6pm, mid-May through mid-October. The 1905 House is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, 11am- 5pm Tuesday through Saturday, 1pm- 5pm Sunday, closed
on Monday.

Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse is a setting that has inspired generations. With its impressive buff-colored brick walls, large square tower topped with battlements, and elegant fourth order Fresnel lens, this lighthouse-built in 1892-is a source for inspiration. Climb the tower and breathe in the spectacular view as generations of lighthouse keepers did before you. Lighthouse and museum is seasonal, opening in May.

The Old Presque Isle Lighthouse is one of the oldest surviving lighthouses on the Great Lakes. Built in 1840 by Jeremiah Moors of Detroit, the harbor light operated until 1871 when the keeper transferred to a new, taller, coastal lighthouse a mile to the north. The Old Presque Isle Lighthouse park is a complex composed of two main structures, a keepers dwelling and a light tower. The stone and brick tower measures thirty feet tall and eighteen feet in diameter. Visitors can climb the hand-hewn stone steps for a panoramic view of the Lake Huron shoreline and Presque Isle Harbor. The buildings and park grounds are open to the public daily, from 9am until 6pm, mid-May through mid-October. A nominal fee
is charged for tower climbs.

owned by the Ontonagon County Historical Society, is open for guided tours Monday-Saturday throughout
the tourism season, and on Sundays
or during the off-season by appointment. Tour guides are well-versed in lighthouse history in general,
and in the details of the Ontonagon Lighthouse in particular.

Peninsula Point Lighthouse was built in 1864 to aid sailing ships to avoid dangerous shoals hidden off the channels. The 1 1/2 story brick home was destroyed in 1959 by fire, but the 40 foot light tower is open. Restrooms and picnic areas are available. Country Road 513

Point Betsie Lighthouse is oldest standing structure in Benzie County, built in 1858, marks the all-important entrance to southern end of the Manitou Passage, a once-vital maritime shipping channel.
