Welcome to summer fun. This time of year brings out activities galore from beautifying our personal spaces; traveling to events like flea markets, air shows, and sports; water fun and camping; to getting moving with much-needed exercise. While it is exciting to get out- side precautions should be taken from exposure to the sun and weather conditions as well as over-doing it. Be sure to protect the top of the head and face; consider wearing a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Evening time fun might also require bug spray, or at least strategi- cally located plants that discourage those unwelcomed guests. Also important is hydration. Make sure you have plenty of water handy.
If you are traveling long distances, be sure to take your vehicle in for a check-up before you go. Medications for travel should be clear- ly identified, whether for you or your pets. Pets should wear identification at all times and be safely secured in the vehicle. You are invited to pick up a personal ID bracelet for yourself or a loved one before you go. See page 6 for more details. And while we are on the move, so are the scammers; guard your personal information at everything you do.
