   RASPBERRY PECAN TORTE
While looking through recipe boxes and cookbooks that belonged to my Mom and Grandma, dessert pages seem to have the most stains, a sure sign of a favorite recipe. This one had many and I remember it being a dish for compa- ny. It makes a 9-inch pan so is perfect for just the two of you or a small dinner party.
• 1 cup flour
• 1⁄2 cup powdered sugar
• 1⁄2 cup butter, grated on large holes of

• 1 cup sugar
• 1⁄4 cup flour
• 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• Instructions Torte:
Spread drained raspberries over cooled crust and sprinkle with nuts;
set aside. In medium bowl, combine eggs, sugar, flour, salt, baking powder, and vanilla on low speed until well blended. Pour over pecans and return to oven to bake for 35-40 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Cool and cut into squares and serve with Cool Whip and Raspberry sauce (recipe follows).
• 1⁄2 cup sugar
• 2 tablespoons cornstarch • Reserved raspberry liquid • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• Instructions Sause:
In a small saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and raspberry liquid and cook, stirring constantly, until thick and clear. Stir in lemon juice and cool. Serve over Cool Whip-topped dessert.
Barn Theatre
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine until well blended, press into the bottom of ungreased 9-inch square pan, and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and cool. (Leave oven on.)
