DON’T FORGET
I needed to get some supplies for a project at my home a few weeks ago, so I stopped by Lowes and was pleased I was able to quickly find what I needed, which usually is not the case! Feeling a sense of accom- plishment that the day was off to a good start, it occurred to me on the way home that I forget to tell them I was a military Veteran, and I had just missed out on my 10% discount! I’ve done it before and probably will do it again.
his end of the relationship.
The problem is that we do break
“Do not forget the covenant I made with you, and do not worship other gods.” 2 Kings 17:38
the covenant, don’t we? We break the 10 commandments in thought or in deed. We forget to love our neighbor as we love our selves. Yet, He always intentionally keeps his side of the bar- gain, because he is God.

Such is the story of my life... I forgot. I forgot to remember to tell them I was a Veteran. The older I get, the more I seem to forget. I forget street names, people’s names, cities, and other details of life. How about you? My theory is that my limited and human filing cabinet between my ears is just getting full at age 73 and harder to retrieve and find informa- tion on a moment’s notice. “That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!
God knew we would not be able to keep our end of the bargain, that’s why he put “Plan B” into effect also at the beginning of creation. That’s the plan of love beyond anything
our small and human minds could comprehend. So at just the right time in history, He became human and then died on a cross for our sins in thought, word, and deed, so that we could live in relationship with him forever.
God reminds us to not forget His commitment to us. It’s a plan of com- mitment that was forged in love by him at the very beginning of creation. It’s called a “Covenant.” A covenant is not a contract that can be broken by either party. God’s Covenant is where he promises to be our God, and we promise to be his children and part of his family, but He will never break
“How silently, how silently the won- drous gift is given;
So God imparts to human hearts the blessings of his heaven.
No ear may hear his coming, but in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive him still, the dear Christ enters in.”
– Verse 3 “O little Town of Bethlehem”
Signs To Look For
I don’t understand a love this big, but I do believe it’s true and I accept that love today. My prayer is that you will accept that love of God in Jesus Christ also and ask him to enter your heart and life in a personal way.
Don’t forget to remember God loves you!
Faithfully yours, ~ Jim Gysel
With Parkinson's
By: Sherii Sherban, Publisher
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neu- rodegenerative brain disorder that progresses slowly in most people. Most people's symptoms take years to develop, and they live for years with the disease. The brain slowly stops producing a neurotransmitter called dopamine. With less and less dopa- mine, a person has less and less abili- ty to regulate their movements, body, and emotions.
Trouble Moving or Walking – What is normal? If you have injured your arm or shoulder, you may not be able to use it as well until it is healed, or another illness like arthritis might cause the same symptom.
Parkinson's disease itself is not fatal. However, complications from the disease are serious. There is cur- rently no cure for Parkinson's. Your doctor's goal will be to treat your symptoms to keep your quality of life as high as possible.
Constipation – What is normal? If you do not have enough water
or fiber in your body, it can cause problems in the bathroom. Also some medicine will cause constipation. If there is no other reason such as diet or medicine that would cause you to have trouble moving your bowels, you should speak with your doctor.
According to the Parkinson’s Foundation when more than one of these signs are evident you should consider making an appointment to talk to the doctor.
A Soft or Low Voice – What is normal? A chest cold or other virus can cause your voice to sound differ- ent, but you should go back to sound- ing the same when you get over your cough or cold.
Tremor or Shaking – What is normal? Shaking can be normal after lots of exercise or if you have been injured. Shaking could also be caused by a medicine you take.
Masked Face – What is normal? Some medicines can cause you to have the same type of serious or star- ing look, but you would go back to the way you were after you stopped the medication.
Small Handwriting – What is normal? Sometimes writing can change as you get older, if you have stiff hands or fingers or poor vision, but this happens over time and not suddenly.
Dizziness or Fainting – What is normal? Everyone has had a time when they stood up and felt dizzy, but if it happens on a regular basis you should see your doctor.
Loss of Smell – What is normal? Your sense of smell can be changed by a cold, flu, or a stuffy nose, but it should come back after you are better.
Stooping or Hunching Over – What is normal? If you have pain from an injury or if you are sick, it might cause you to stand crookedly. Also, a problem with your bones can make you hunch over.
Trouble Sleeping – What is nor- mal? It is normal for everyone to have a night when they 'toss and turn' instead of sleeping.
