Now I know this sounds crazy, but if you’ve ever doubted, you need to know you are in good company! Most of the great theologians down through the centuries have experienced or talk- ed about this at one time or another. This writer has gone through times of doubting even after being ordained to be a pastor. Paul Tillich, a twentieth Century theologian at one point wrote that believing is impossible until you have gone through the experience of actually not believing.

So in this season of celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead that the Church has celebrates as Easter, know that you’re in good company. Without the doubt, you would know everything and thus, not be in need of faith!
Remember the Bible story of Jesus’ disciple, Thomas who doubted until he could see the resurrected Jesus (John 20)? And even though he doubted at one point, (and was vilified because of it) the rest of the story is that Thomas was a great man of faith and went on to give his life for the sake of passing on the faith.
