The Kinship Resource Center at Michigan State University
is working for and with fami- lies that have children placed in their homes formally, by
the Department of Health and Human Services, or informally. There has been an initiative by DHHS to place children who cannot remain in the parental home with relatives.
The Kinship Resource Center is asking relative families to please complete a survey that will help determine if those families are receiving needed and available services. The survey can be accessed at Http://forms.gle/3LRyavRN QpZUv95q5.

The Family Enrichment Center is here to help kinship families with needed resourc- es. Please consider joining our support group the first Tuesday of the month. October is National Fire Prevention Month. The goal of Fire Prevention Month is to raise fire safety awareness, and help ensure everyone’s home and family is protected.

On October 6, 2022, from 10am to 2pm the Tekonsha Fire Station and Calhoun County Senior Services will host a Senior Health and Safety Day. The Tekonsha Fire Station is located at 166 Spires Parkway in Tekonsha. The event is open to local older adults and caregivers to learn about programs and services available in Calhoun
Local senior service providers and emergency services personnel will have information tables about resources. There will also be demonstrations, giveaways, exercise classes, health screenings, presentations, coffee, donuts, and a free senior lunch. Some of the local fire trucks will also be on display.
Tekonsha Fire Chief Daryl Cummins offered the newly renovated Tekonsha Fire Station for the event. The planning committee includes staff from Calhoun County Senior Services, CareWell Services Southwest, Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department, Forks Senior Center, Heritage Commons Senior Enrichment Center, Senior Health Partners, Senior Times, and Tekonsha Fire Chief Cummins.

There is nothing better in the fall than a nice cozy campfire with family and friends. Bringing the best treat to the backyard bash makes the best even better. Though this is
S’MORES COOKIE BARS
2. In a 13x9 pan, combine margarine with crumbs. Press to form an even layer.
3. Sprinkle chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and marshmallows.
4. Pour sweetened condensed milk over the mixture.
5. Bake for 25 minutes or until bubbly.
6. Cool and refrigerate for one hour.
not my own personal recipe, I highly recommend it. I think the butterscotch chips are what really make these cookie bars stand
chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips 1 cup mini marshmallows 1- 14oz can sweetened
out. Give it a try and see what you think!
condensed milk
3⁄4 cup margarine or butter
3 cups graham cracker crumbs 1- 6 oz. package semi-sweet
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
