Then they become depressed. They lose interest in bowling, or dining out, or walking in the mall. Their sleep and appetite are diminished. They lose energy. They feel helpless or hopeless. This isn't unusual. If this has happened to you or a friend, get some mental health treatment. Try to force yourself to get out and do something. But if you or your friend just can't get out to enjoy what used to be fun, phone me to schedule an appointment in my law office, to discuss whether a disability claim %u2013 even for a temporary period %u2013 might be a way to go.You may reach me at (269) 968-2215; by email at jhaadsma@mccroskeylaw.com; or by stopping by my office at 395 South Shore Drive, Suite 308, Battle Creek, MI, 49014.I hope you don't need my help. But if you do, I'll be there for you.HELP IS AVAILABLEThis past winter was definitely a challenging time for getting out, visiting friends, or doing activities like playing euchre or singing at karaoke. Hopefully with the advent of spring we can all get out and do more things with one another.Sometimes, however, my Social Security disability clients can't get out and do things with others, because they just want to stay home, and don't want to be around others.I urge you to do your best to get to church or go play charitable gaming bingo. We thrive by being around others. But if you just don't want to do those social things, and you're not working, and you're younger than age 67, you may want to phone me to discuss what's going on, and whether you might want to make a Social Security disability claim. This is what often happens: a worker experiences an injury, at work, at home, or on the highway. It may be a lower back, or a shoulder, or a knee injury. Suddenly the worker can't work, and must get along (if she or he so has disability insurance) on shortor long-term disability payments. Often the worker gets behind on her or his bills, because disability insurance doesn't cover as much as did employment wages. All of a sudden there is financial stress, and trouble sleeping. The injury also often brings challenges with doing yard and kitchen chores. All this often makes the worker discouraged and depressed. Many of my Social Security Workers%u2019 Disability CompensationSocial Security Disability %u2022 Auto No-FaultATTORNEYSPECIALIZING IN:JIM HAADSMAJIM HAADSMA %u2022 McCROSKEY LAW PLC 395 South Shore Drive Suite 308 %u2022 Battle Creek MI 49014(269) 968-2215 %u2022 jhaadsma@mccroskeylaw.com Attorney Jim Haadsma %u2022 McCroskey Law, P.L.C.
